Better known simply as Criss, Ir. Sinta Makah (PEng, MIEM), is a Professional Chemical Engineer, who graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom in 1993 with a B Eng (Hons) Chemical Engineering. She has worked in 3 continents (Europe, Middle East and Asia) holding various challenging positions including very senior managerial positions in the chemical manufacturing environments. She has held senior managerial positions in manufacturing/production, projects and quality assurance. She was also instrumental in starting up a manufacturing plant right from the very start through to procurement, building/construction, commissioning and commercial start-up after which she continued to manage and run the plant for a few more years.
When, she was pregnant with her second child, she boldly stopped work and became a full time “home manager” for four years. She then turned entrepreneur and directed PureGenius Sdn Bhd into an education business which is where she feels that her contribution will be far reaching. English Language is second nature to her and it is her forte as she studied in English all her life. Her primary education, through secondary, right to university was in English medium. It only makes sense for her to venture into this area considering the opportunity and her strength in this area.
Growing up, Criss has always excelled in school and she feels that it is her calling to help other students to excel in their studies, which leads her to venture into the business of preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE, starting from primary school right up to A-Levels. She has already helped her own two children to become independent learners who excel in everything they do without going for extra tuition and without extra guidance from anyone.
Criss is truly passionate about helping students to excel and it is her greatest passion to create and produce independent learners.
Criss, the Chemical Engineer turned Entrepreneur/Educator believes very strongly that the current education system is on its way out. The current education system will be replaced by an education system where students learn at their own pace, those sharper and smarter ones would be able to move on to more challenging material and move grades faster than the average students. Technology and global inter-connectivity plus the ease to access knowledge and learning materials from anywhere in the world will move us forward towards individualized and accelerated learning.
The current education system puts students of different abilities within the same age in a class and teach them the same thing, the same way. There is no avenue for students who are fast learners to pursue more challenging materials and to move ahead of the class to higher grades as this is usually difficult to manage. With individualized learning which is made possible by technology, manageability will no longer be an issue.
It is therefore very important to be able to master the English Language, which is the most widely used language in the world, to enable one to have access to knowledge and technology which is mostly in English. And it is also important to have globally recognized qualification in English, which is why Criss has decided to drive PureGenius Sdn Bhd to be part of this global initiative.
An internationally recognized education certificate will enable one to pursue higher education at University Level anywhere in the world. Sadly, at the moment, International Education is not accessible to most, as it comes with a high price tag, hence, it is only affordable by those with high income.
